How to make a QR code

Copy the full URL (including https://), paste it into the URL field of a QR generator, and download the image. Use a dynamic QR code if you might change the link later — the printed code stays the same but the destination is editable.

Same as any link: paste the site's URL into the generator. For marketing or print use, choose dynamic so you can track scans (device, city, time) and swap the destination without reprinting.

Open your Google Form, click Send → the link icon, tick “Shorten URL,” and copy it. Paste that URL into a QR code generator and download. If you're likely to edit the form URL, use a dynamic QR so respondents always land on the current version.

Most generators — including QR Lift's free plan — let you create unlimited static QR codes at no cost. Dynamic codes with scan analytics are usually a paid feature; QR Lift includes a limited number of dynamic codes on the free plan.

Upload the PDF to Drive, Dropbox, or your site, copy the public share link, and turn that link into a QR code. Using a dynamic QR lets you replace the file later without reprinting the code.

Use a vCard QR code. Fill in name, phone, email, company, and website; scanning saves the contact directly to the phone's address book — no app needed.

Choose the WiFi content type in your generator, enter the network SSID, password, and encryption (usually WPA/WPA2). Scanning connects the phone automatically on iOS and Android.

Canva has a built-in QR app, but it only creates static codes — you can't change the destination or track scans. For editable, trackable codes, generate the QR in a dedicated tool and drop the PNG or SVG into your Canva design.

Create a vCard QR code, download as SVG (vector stays sharp at any print size), and place it on the card. Keep the QR at least 2 × 2 cm and leave a small white margin around it so cameras can lock on.

Static QR codes are free forever — there's no license fee for QR codes themselves. You only pay when you want dynamic (editable) codes, scan analytics, bulk generation, or team features.

Static codes bake the destination into the pattern — change the link and you must reprint. Dynamic codes point to a short link you control, so you can edit the destination, track scans, and A/B test without reprinting.
